Chapter-6

For a few quiet minutes, the only sound in the room was the soft rustle of the sheets and the gentle steam rising from your mugs.

Jungkook held his cup in both hands, taking small, slow sips, occasionally glancing sideways at you. The sharp edge of his anxiety from the previous day had completely dissolved, replaced by a quiet, grounded contentment.

"What time do you have to leave?" you asked, leaning back against the headboard, watching him over the rim of your cup.

Jungkook swallowed, his chin pulling down slightly into a deferential posture before he spoke. "My driver arrives at nine, Ma'am. We have a full day of press and schedule runs."

"And how does that feel, knowing you have to go back to being Jeon Jungkook for the world?"

A subtle, boyish smirk touched his lips, though his eyes remained entirely soft and devoted. "It's easier now. When I know I have this..." He gestured vaguely between the two of you, then lifted his eyes to meet yours. "...when I know I belong to you, the rest of it just feels like noise. It doesn't get under my skin anymore."

"Good," you said, setting your empty mug down on the nightstand with a quiet clink.

Jungkook's eyes followed the movement instantly. Without a word, he set his own mug down beside yours, shifting his body on the bed so he was facing you directly, his knees tucked neatly under him.

"Ma'am?" he murmured, his voice dropping an octave, testing the air to see what you required of him next.

"Come here," you commanded quietly, holding out your hand.

He moved forward on his knees without hesitation, crawling the short distance across the mattress until he was resting right at your side. He rested his chin on your knee, looking up at you through his dark, messy bangs, his large hand coming up to rest lightly over your ankle.

"Before you leave today," you said, your fingers gently tracing the contour of his jaw, "I want you to remember something."

"Anything, Ma'am," he whispered, closing his eyes briefly as your thumb stroked his skin.

"No matter how many people scream your name today, no matter how many directives your label gives you... you answer to me."

Jungkook's breath hitched, a faint, lovely flush dusting his cheeks at the firm authority in your tone. He opened his eyes, dark and heavy with unwavering devotion.

"Always, Ma'am," he promised softly, pressing a lingering, warm kiss to the inside of your wrist. "Every breath I take today is for you."

The subtle vibration of a phone on the far side of the nightstand cut through the quiet room.

Jungkook didn't break eye contact with you. He didn't even flinch. He remained perfectly still, his cheek resting against your knee, waiting to see if you would grant him permission to address the real world intruding on your space.

"Check it," you murmured softly, running your fingers one last time through his hair.

"Yes, Ma'am," he whispered.

He shifted, reaching over to pick up the phone. A brief glance at the screen confirmed the inevitable. "It's my manager. The car is five minutes away."

He set the phone back down screen-face-down and looked up at you, his expression a quiet mixture of reluctance to leave and complete readiness to obey your commands for the day.

"Stand up, Jungkook."

He rose off the mattress immediately, standing tall at the side of your bed. The relaxed, sleepy posture vanished, replaced by the poised, commanding frame the rest of the world knew—yet his eyes remained entirely soft, fixed on you.

You gestured toward his neatly folded clothes on the armchair. "Get dressed."

"Yes, Ma'am."

He moved with calm, deliberate efficiency, pulling on his trousers and buttoning his crisp shirt, though he left the top button undone. He slipped his leather jacket over his broad shoulders, transforming back into the global superstar piece by piece right before your eyes.

Once he was fully dressed, he didn't head for the door. He walked back to the edge of the bed, dropping effortlessly onto one knee beside you, looking up with absolute devotion.

"I'm ready to leave, Ma'am," he said smoothly, his voice low and grounded. "May I have your permission to go?"

You reached out, your fingers resting against the side of his neck, feeling the steady, calm rhythm of his pulse. You leaned forward, pressing a lingering, gentle kiss to his forehead.

"You may go, Jungkook. Do your job, represent yourself well, and come back to me tonight."

A radiant, breath-taking smile broke across his face, lighting up his features. He leaned into your touch, pressing a soft kiss to your knuckles before standing up.

"I won't keep you waiting, Ma'am," he promised softly.

With a final, respectful bow of his head, Jeon Jungkook turned and walked out of the room, ready to conquer the world—knowing full well who owned his heart.
