Chapter-2

The room felt suspended in time, wrapped in the quiet comfort of his presence. His praise lingered in the air, warm and grounding, leaving you completely relaxed in his lap.

Jungkook rested his chin atop your head, his steady breathing a rhythmic pulse beneath you. After a long moment of quiet, his hand moved from your back to smooth down your arm, his thumb gently caressing your wrist where your pulse fluttered softly.

"Are you hungry, or just tired?" he asked softly, his tone effortlessly taking charge of the little decisions you were too worn out to make.

"Just tired, Sir," you murmured, leaning further into his chest.

"I thought so," he replied with a soft, quiet chuckling breath that vibrated against your check. "Your body is exhausted, even if your mind is trying to stay awake."

He didn't give you a choice to argue—not that you wanted to. With effortless strength, Jungkook shifted and stood up from the armchair, carrying you securely in his arms. Instinctively, you wrapped your arms around his neck, resting your head under his chin as he walked out of the dimly lit study and down the hallway toward the master bedroom.

The bedroom was bathed in the soft, warm glow of the bedside lamps, the bed already neatly turned down. He walked over to the side of the mattress and gently lowered you down onto the plush sheets. Before you could feel the sudden cold of being apart, he leaned down, keeping one hand resting on the mattress beside your head, his presence hovering close.

"Stay right here," he instructed quietly, his dark eyes holding yours with absolute authority. "Don't move."

"Yes, Sir," you whispered, sinking back into the pillows.

He stepped away briefly, returning moments later with a glass of water. He sat on the edge of the bed and helped you sit up just enough to take a few sips, his hand supporting the back of your neck. Once you finished, he set the glass on the nightstand, slid out of his shoes, and unbuttoned the top few buttons of his shirt, easing himself into bed beside you.

He pulled the heavy duvet over both of you, then reached out, drawing you back into his arms until your back was resting against his chest and his arm was wrapped securely around your waist.

"Close your eyes," Jungkook murmured into the back of your neck, his breath warm against your skin. His large hand rested over yours, fingers intertwining. "Everything is taken care of. I've got you."

The quiet command gave your mind final permission to turn off. Safe, protected, and completely held by him, you let out a long, contented breath and finally closed your eyes, drifting off to sleep.

The morning light filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a soft, golden glow across the bedroom. The steady pitter-patter of the rain from the night before had tapered off into a gentle, quiet mist.

You stirred slowly, warm and completely weightless, grounded by the solid weight of Jungkook's arm still wrapped tightly around your waist. His chest rose and fell in a slow, rhythmic cadence against your back, keeping you anchored to the mattress.

For a few minutes, you simply lay there, enjoying the rare luxury of a silent mind. There were no tasks to rush toward, no lingering anxieties demanding your attention—just the safe, absolute bubble he built around you.

A quiet hum vibrated against your spine as Jungkook shifted behind you. His arm tightened slightly, pulling you a fraction closer before his lips pressed a warm, soft kiss to the side of your neck.

"Good morning," he murmured, his deep voice heavy with sleep, yet entirely composed.

"Good morning, Sir," you whispered, turning your head slightly on the pillow to look at him.

His dark eyes were open, watching you with an affectionate, observant gaze that immediately checked on your well-being before a word was even spoken. His thumb reached up to brush a stray strand of hair away from your face, his touch lingering against your cheek.

"How are you feeling today?" he asked softly. "Did you sleep well?"

"I did," you replied, a genuine, quiet smile reaching your eyes. "Better than I have in weeks."

"Good." A look of quiet satisfaction crossed his features. He propped himself up on one elbow, looking down at you with a calm, commanding warmth. "Your mind feels clearer today?"

"Much clearer, Sir."

"That's what happens when you actually let me take care of you instead of carrying everything yourself," he reminded you gently, though his tone left no room for doubt. He leaned down, pressing a firm, lingering kiss to your forehead. "Stay under the covers for a few more minutes. I'm going to make us breakfast."

Before you could think to offer to help, he raised a single eyebrow, knowing your habits all too well. "That wasn't a request, Y/N. Rest until I come back for you."

"Yes, Sir," you murmured, melting back into the warmth of the pillows with a soft sigh.

Jungkook smiled, satisfied with your obedience, and slid out of bed. As he walked toward the kitchen, you pulled the duvet up to your chin, wrapped in his scent, his quiet strength, and the comforting knowledge that under his care, you were always completely safe.
