Time Skip, Next day

At 9:05 am, in the CEO's cabin:

Naina: Good morning, sir

Aryaman: You are late on your first day at work, Ms. Naina. Is this how you will prove that you're worthy of this position?

Naina: I am really sorry about it sir. Actually, the lift was full so, ...

Aryaman: Stop it. Let's not waste time at this conversation.

Naina: Ok sir.

Aryaman: Your cabin is right in front of my cabin. Start with arranging my schedule for today. Come to me after that. As it's your first day, if you need help with anything, you can take help from the receptionist.

Naina: Ok sir

(After the preparation of his schedule)

(She knocked on his cabin door and he replied 'Come In' without looking at who was the person who knocked at the door.)

Naina: Sir, here is your schedule for today.

(He now looked at her face which was looking a little tired because she is on her periods but has a different kind of glow, something shining like determination. She was earlier desperate to just get the job and now she was determined to prove herself by showing her skills to him, showing that she can be worthy of his trust. Also, she'll show her parents that their daughter can be independent.)

Aryaman: Okay (His reply was simple and short). Just dictate the schedule to me.

After telling him his schedule,

Aryaman: Here, take these files with you and review them to learn about the current project and also, bring me a coffee, no sugar (he added).

Naina: (Nodding) Yes sir

Aryaman: And you, don't make it yourself. Just bring it from the café downstairs.

Naina: But sir, you have always preferred the coffee I made instead of the café one's.

Aryaman: Miss Naina! (She flinched). Don't bring personal things in the work. Maintain professional behaviour in the office.

(Her eyes got teary. Still, she nodded)

Naina: Sorry sir. I'll be back with coffee in some time.

Time Skip

(She knocked and asked)

Naina: Sir may I come in?

Aryaman: Yes, you may.

Naina: Sir, your coffee

(He nodded and she left with files)

After 5 min

(He called her in his cabin. Naina entered a few moments later, confused of why he sounded irritated)

(As soon as she entered his cabin, he shouted at her.)

Aryaman: Don't you understand a simple task to bring a sugar-free coffee!!

Naina: Sir, I brought sugar-free coffee only.

Aryaman: Then why there is sugar in it!?

(Then Naina realised that the coffee cup must have gotten exchanged with the sugar one at the counter.)

(She lowered her head, trying not to anger him more by explaining about the cups exchange.)

(She just said in low voice)

Naina: "I am sorry sir."

(His anger flickered at his face now. He immediately said)

Aryaman: I don't need your sorry, I want correction! I want improvement!

(Naina almost immediately said)

Naina: I'll bring another cup of sugar-free coffee sir. Just give me 10 minutes.

After 10 min

(She managed to get the coffee cup within 10 min)

Naina: Here is your coffee sir.

Aryaman: Since you messed this up, I'd rather expect the previewing of the files completed within time today. Give a brief explanation about the project as soon as you come tomorrow.

Naina: Ok sir

(The office hours ended and she reached home tired)

Naina: Mom, I'm so tired...

Naina's Mom: On the first day itself?

Naina: Yes, you know, my boss is very strict and now I've to prepare a brief explanation of a project. But I'm so tired...(pouts)

Naina's Mom: (Chuckles) Naina, listen dear, this is just the starting of your corporate life. When you'll become capable enough of handling a business on your own, your father will pass on his company to you.

Naina: But Mom! I can't even follow my boss's orders properly; how can I run a company on my own... (exhales exhausted)

Naina'sMom: Don't worry dear, you'll learn many things from this job itself. You'll bea good CEO of your future company one day.

I think we can all agree that Naina deserves a massive hug (and a heating pad!) after that chaotic first day. ☕ Order mix-ups are the absolute worst, especially when your boss is already looking for a reason to be strict!
